Tasks

-Providing support for our clients during construction. -Applying knowledge and experience to complex projects and finding non-standard design solutions. -Leading structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are led by project managers. -Building positive relationships with existing and new clients to further develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met. -Leading a team of multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success. -Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies. -Performing quality control reviews and responsible for QA/QC process adherence. -Participating in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders. -Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc. -Corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors. -Applying expert knowledge of commonly used structural concepts, practices, codes and procedures within the structural engineering services industry. -Performing design and analysis in the state of California adhering to seismic requirements and IEEE 693 seismic qualifications -Training and mentoring less experienced engineers in their technical and professional development. -Preparing and presenting technical reports for clients and industry publications. -Leading project proposal and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance and scope management. -Responsible for effective communication and coordination with other engineering disciplines. -Leading and overseeing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, structure foundations and secondary oil containment.

What You Bring

-Professional Engineer (PE). Licensure in California and as a Structural Engineer (SE) preferred. -Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., ASCE 113, CBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, IEEE 693). -Strong computer skills (e.g. RISA 3D, RISA FDN, HILTI, MFAD, RAM Connection, Idea Statica). -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to work methodically and analytically in a dynamic, quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. -Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment. -Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills. -Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment. -Knowledge in substation electrical physical design principles. -Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program -Seven (7) years of substation structural engineering experience. Consulting experience preferred. Master of Science degree in civil engineering may be substituted for one (1) year experience.
