Design and engineer high-voltage transmission lines (34.5 kV–500 kV)

Tasks
-Represent the Engineering department and participate in inter-department meetings -Generate cost effective designs for high voltage electrical transmission lines -Balance innovation and standardization of work processes -Monitor team progress and activities to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget and exceed customer expectations -Attend meetings with customers as needed to support the Sales department and the engineers

What You Bring
-Effective oral and written communication skills -Able to perform transmission line engineering work independently. -Knowledge and understanding of substation structures, foundations, and site development issues -This position requires minimal physical effort. -Knowledge and understanding of transmission engineering, including routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material takeoffs, etc. -Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI and ANSI that apply to transmission design -Experience in preparing cost effective designs in EPC environment -Knowledge of common engineering application software, particularly such tools as PLS-CADD -Minimum 3 years experience in actual hands on design work as it relates to transmission line design -Extensive knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary for a complete a project -Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by assignments -Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day -May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time. -Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
