The Role
Overview
Ensure construction quality, manage non-conformances, and support site teams in nuclear projects.

Tasks
-Ensure and monitor that Quality Inspection Records are taken and agreed before works are covered up. -Develop and maintain an understanding of construction drawings, construction activities, Quality Control Plans and Quality Inspection Records. -Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to prevent the halt of works -Check the Works are constructed in accordance with the contract and notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance request requirements. -Proactively communicate with other site teams, maintain good communication links and ensure surveillance is timely reported and contribute surveillance information to support KPI indicators. -Ensure tasks are developed to quality in accordance with the company’s requirement for health, safety and environment. -Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports.

The role of the Field Engineer is to ensure works are delivered to contract standards through proactive site surveillance, timely reporting of non-conformances, and strong collaboration with site teams. The role involves reviewing contractor performance, verifying inspection records, and identifying quality issues before they impact progress. Mechanical engineering knowledge, welding proficiency, and familiarity with relevant industry standards are essential. -Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role -Experience with LQRS / NCR's -NDT Inspector- PCN Level 2/Cofrend (ISO 9712 L2) – UT, RT, MT, PT, VT, -Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage. -Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices -Welding CSWIP 3.1 or IWI-B -A minimum of HND in a Civil / Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience -Knowledge of Quality standards - ISO 9001 and ISO 19443
