Tasks
-Oversees the profitability of the project by negotiating fees and contracts as may be appropriate, participating in the budgeting process, and ensuring that invoices are accurate and delivered in a timely manner -Monitors accounts receivables on projects and initiates corrective action as needed -Identifies, negotiates, and administers fees for additional services -Frequent travel (about 30-50% of the time) to visit job sites and attend meetings, conferences, and events -Manages the design, bidding, construction administration, and closeout for roofing specific projects -Completes the project scope and requirements with the client and other stakeholders and communicates project scope and requirements to the project team -Prepares and implements a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects -May travel to and navigate construction sites, some of which may be at high altitudes or small spaces with dirt or dust particles -Supervises the job close out process to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete -Assists Cx Project Managers with roofing specific tasks on Building Enclosure projects -Coordinates activities of the project team and contractors during the design and construction phases -Frequently work outdoors on a roof, or otherwise at a project site for several hours at a time -May need to periodically ride swing stages and boom lifts on a job site as necessary -Works with the client to understand schedule expectations and, with team input, proposes interim milestones to the schedule for proper information flow, adjusting as necessary throughout the project -Frequently travel by car or plane to visit job sites and attend meetings, conferences, and events -Performs or directs others to perform project job site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes during construction -Frequently use a computer for several hours at a time -May need to periodically maneuver over, under, and around barriers as well as climb ladders on a job site -Performs and directs detailed roof condition assessments and corresponding reporting -May assist management in the training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues within the Enclosure group -May participate in planning and budgeting processes, which include preparing monthly billing projections and budget metrics as required by management -Facilitates communication between the client and the project team; documents important issues -Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements -Coordinates with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, implement operating procedures, and provide technical information

-Speech Clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you -Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) software -Judgement and Decision-Making Skills – ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion -Knowledge of building codes and regulations -General knowledge of accounting and how to create and maintain budgets -Knowledge of SSR invoicing process and development/update of revenue projects -Professional Engineer Licensure preferred -Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and move around a job site for several hours at a time -Ten years related project experience -Active Listening Skills – practices attentive listening with the patience to hear people out; can accurately restate the opinions of others even when they disagree -Comprehension – ability to understand information, ideas, and direction presented in writing and/or verbally communicated -Organizational Skills – can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support, etc.) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish goals; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner -Knowledge of construction procurement and design development processes -Technical or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field and five years related project experience OR -Knowledge of project approach and systems design -Technical Writing Skills – skilled in the area of summarizing or explaining technical information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, communicating the point intended -Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation -Presentation Skills – effective in a variety of presentation settings both inside and outside the organization; commands attention and can manage group processes during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn’t working -Detail-Oriented – ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome -Relationship Management Skills – ability to create, maintain, and strengthen authentic relationships with clients -Knowledge of the roofing discipline
