Field Technician

Overview

Perform field reviews of electric poles/facilities, capture data, and report findings

Tasks

-Properly file data in the system and provide daily status reports. -Scan notes and measurements, then save into folders -Obtain GPS location -Measuring wheel and/or laser range finder -Perform field review of electric facilities capturing the required information -Sketch of site with measurements to nearby obstructions -Create folders and download photos -Conduct safety briefing discussions identifying critical work steps, the potential hazards related to those work steps, and possible control barriers.

What You Bring

-Centerline measurements, offsets, Mile Markers (for future permitting use) -Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record for the past 5 years. -Smart device, laptop, or mobile phone -Pole Identification Markings (height / class, birthmark) -Familiarity with electrical standards including National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) preferred. -Auto CAD experience -Knowledge of Katapult or like equipment preferred. -High-level understanding of utility, telecommunications, and/or power design engineering preferred. -Associates degree preferred or 2 years’ experience with power distribution systems and/or telecommunications. -Notation of existing equipment -Digital Camera
