The Role

Overview

Ensure timely delivery of aero‑engine parts, manage supply‑chain issues and resolve quality problems.

Tasks

-Make detailed observations, gather part and process data, interpret/analyze that data, ensure closure of engineering questions and part non-conformances. -Evaluate and ensure supplier produced Aero-Engine parts are delivered by commitment dates as well as identify delivery issues and manage sustainable corrective improvement actions. This remote position requires aspects of Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance disciplines along with the ability to travel. -Creating work instructions -Evaluating production capacity in a manufacturing environment -Planning of Material / Inventory / Tool / Buffer stocks -Work will be performed at supplier sites or remote locations -Assessing Supplier Health / Supplier Development -Monitor MRP tools, Production schedules, WIP (shop floor), and Non-conformances against delivery commit dates. Estimate / revise delivery dates. -Identify bottlenecks, conduct gap analysis, create mitigation plans, generate and track action items to closure. -Document, summarize, write reports, and disseminate information per requirements. -Conduct part transition planning, execution, and verification work -Involvement with Process Planning and Production Readiness reviews

What You Bring

-Experience working within AS9100, ISO9001 environments -Knowledge of material packaging and handling -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -History (breadth and depth) with manufacturing processes -Ability to persuade and influence without authority -Familiarity with MRP, Production Scheduling, Delivery estimation, Risk analysis, Crisis mitigation, and sub-tier supplier involvement -History identifying and resolving part quality and delivery issues - including utilization of formal problem solving tools and NCM requirements -Experience with quality systems and industry standards compliance (including process and material certs) -Work requires the natural ability to easily develop positive, customer-facing, working relationships with engineers, buyers, and program management at both the OEM and supply base levels. -Knowledge of purchasing and quoting processes -Superior Customer/Supplier interaction -Knowledge of part qualification requirements (including PPAP/FAI processes) -Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work. -Proficiency using MS office suite -Ability tread/interpret drawings including understanding of GD&T and critical characteristics (KPCs) -Understanding proper Measurement/Inspection tool use and requirements -Exposure to Lean methodologies and tools -Ability to rent vehicles, as needed, from major car rental servicers -Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required -Familiarity with Control Plans and Operating/Work Instructions -Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized -Experience with warehousing, shipping and distribution -Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies, tools, terms
