The Role

Overview

Lead facility assessment projects, manage a team, deliver condition reports, and oversee budgets.

Tasks

-Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members. -Support overall end-to-end project management of all assessment programs and group functions. -Provide technical feedback and quality control on project deliverables. -Ensure adherence of all program processes are followed. -Team Lead will be a dedicated technical assessor and project manager on specific programs/projects that include various facility assessments for BGIS clients. Clients include commercial, institutional, and industrial clients with real estate holdings throughout North America. -Ensure H&S forms and Work At heights certificates are updated. -Provide recommendations and cost estimates for repair or lifecycle renewal of building components and systems for inclusion in the client capital budget plans. -Identify costs and risks of poor performance and non-compliance. -Create, maintain, and track project schedules/maps, work orders, and deliverables in dashboards. -Identify project risks, develop and implement mitigation and contingency plans. -Identifies and evaluates specialized asset component and systems conditions and deficiencies. -Provide weekly feedback on technical reviews for data quality control. -Team Lead will support the launch of all new business services, pilot programs, new tools/technologies, guide and/or train team members to achieve their role expectations. -Review and update facility assessment staff training processes and training documents. -Complete asset assessment condition reports using various asset assessment management software. -Participate in the recruitment of resources. -Lead communication with key program/project stakeholders on all client corporate real estate accounts and on-demand projects regarding logistics, schedules, project progress, and any related health and safety issues. -Resolve issues due to unforeseen emergencies and work incidents. -Prioritize and perform competing tasks on multiple programs and projects. -Perform weekly progress tracking of project deliverables. -Communicate monthly project status to key stakeholders. -Support on-demand preparation of proposals defining scope, deliverables, requirements, timelines, budgets. -Perform detailed technical reviews for new team member deliverables. -Develops strong client service orientation and maintaining internal relationships. -Perform weekly technical reviews of report submissions in various formats. -Document and maintain full BCA processes for each client program. -Communicate monthly and weekly schedules to key stakeholders. -Perform monthly financials - tracking deliverables, updating financial software. -Continuously incorporate best practices in order to optimize program delivery and value to the client. -Participates in relevant continued education. -Promotes new initiatives with a positive attitude. -Implement tools, technology, and software related to client specific reporting and deliverables. -Lead project management of individual programs/projects under management supervision. -Manages the quality of deliverables and timeliness of completion for assigned team members.

What You Bring

-Models mature and reliable team leadership with emotional intelligence. -Performs complex facility assessments with ability to travel 20 to 40% annually. -Fundamental knowledge of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Practice E2018-15 “Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property Condition Assessment Process”. -CSA ASC B651-23 Accessible Design for Building Environment, Accessibility Canada Act, AODA, other provincial guidelines. -Understanding of national and provincial codes. -Adapts quickly to change setting an example for team members. -Specialized knowledge in a field of study - architectural, structural, building envelope, or mechanical building systems. -Fundamental knowledge of building science including base knowledge of all areas of study - architectural building envelope, mechanical and electrical building systems, and site components. -Ability to learn new technology, tools, software programs. -General knowledge of general building design, construction, and facility operation of commercial buildings. -Designation with P.Eng, BSS, EIT, other. -Advanced knowledge of cost estimates for maintenance, repair, and renewal of building systems and components. -5 -10 years of relevant work experience. -Applies specialized knowledge of building condition assessment processes and technical standards in conducting asset assessments and other specialized asset assessments. -Valid drivers’ license, passport, and vehicle access. -University degree or college diploma in relevant field such as architecture, an engineering discipline, or building science. -Ability to work at heights. -Strong organizational, documentation and reporting skills. -Maintains high ethical, honesty and moral standards. -Strong written/verbal communication skills are mandatory. -Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced environment. -Computer and Microsoft proficiency. -Professional designations in engineering, architecture, or building sciences. -PMP certification from Project Management Institute Accreditation, an asset. -Proficiency to read architectural/MEP drawings. -LEED certification from Canada Green Building Council, an asset. -Strong project management skills. -Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are mandatory. -BSS designation from Building Envelope Council, an asset.
