Laboratory Technician - Eurofins Environment Testing South Central , Carrollton, TX

Overview

Assist culturing aquatic species, prepare samples, maintain lab and aquarium equipment

Key Responsibilities

• glassware wash

Tasks

-Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples. -Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks. -Prepare concentrations -Stocks laboratory supplies. -Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled. -Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods: -Assists other laboratory areas as needed. -Prepare reagents -Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis. -Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.

What You Bring

-Understanding of feeding protocols and nutritional requirements for these species -Proficiency in maintaining and calibrating aquarium equipment (filters, pumps, heaters) -Experience with water quality testing (pH, salinity, temperature, ammonia, DO) -high school diploma required -Skill in maintaining clean and sterile environments to prevent contamination -Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25lbs -Knowledge of breeding and larval rearing techniques for aquatic species -Must be available for overtime and weekends when required. -Basic knowledge of aquatic biology and ecology -Prior familiarity with fish and aquariums is ideal -Degree in Marine Biology, Wildlife Biology , or equivalent preferred, but not required -Aliquot samples -Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship -Ability to monitor and record fish and shrimp health, behavior, and growth -Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English. -Aquarium Experience preferred.
