Overview

Creates 3D Revit models and detailed spool drawings for electrical prefabrication.

Tasks

-Collaborate with VDC coordinators and other trades during model coordination and clash detection. -Standardize spool templates, naming conventions, and prefab content libraries. -Create and maintain Revit models focused on spooling assemblies for prefabrication. -Coordinate with field supervisors and prefab managers to verify constructability and sequencing. -Generate detailed spool drawings, including dimensions, annotations, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions. -Continuously improve prefab modeling workflows for efficiency and consistency. -Update models with as-built field changes, redlines, and design revisions. -Support material tracking and logistics by ensuring spool data aligns with procurement and inventory systems. -Organize and label spool sheets according to company prefab standards and project requirements.

What You Bring

-Ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and deadlines. -Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Construction Technology, or related field. -Understanding of electrical construction methods, including conduit routing, cable tray, device layouts, and equipment assemblies. -Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (2+ years experience modeling electrical or MEP systems). -Experience generating spool drawings or shop-level fabrication documents. -Experience working directly with electrical prefab teams or fabrication shops. -Detail-oriented, process-driven, and proactive in identifying issues early. -Knowledge of BIM-to-fabrication workflows and Revit family creation. -Familiarity with Trimble, AutoCAD, or other layout and coordination tools. -Strong communication and teamwork—able to translate field feedback into accurate model updates. -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. -Familiarity with BIM 360, Navisworks, or similar coordination tools.
