Overview

Environmental chemist validates data, prepares QAPPs, and supports lab QA/QC.

Tasks

-Provide guidance to entry level chemists. -Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with minimal supervision. -Assist with laboratory solicitation, evaluation, and selection. -Summarize analytical data quality in Data Usability Assessments (DUAs) at the conclusion of the project. -Coordinate with field teams before and during sampling events. -Validate analytical data in accordance with published guidelines (DoD, NFG, Regional EPA). -Coordinate with Project/Senior Chemists on a regular basis. -Peer review of data validation reports and other project documents to ensure accuracy and consistency with project requirements.

What You Bring

-Experience validating data in accordance with EPA National Functional Guidelines for Data Review -BA/BS in Chemistry or related scientific field of study -Familiarity with automated data review systems such as EDMS, FUDSChem, or EPA EXES -Experience with Department of Defense Quality Systems Manual for Environmental Laboratories Version 6.0 -Familiarity with Earth Soft's EQuIS database program -BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Experience with validation of PFAS or dioxin/furan data -Experience validating data in accordance with Department of Defense Data Validation Guidelines and Modules -Experience with operation and use of analytical laboratory equipment (e.g., ICP, ICP-MS, HPLC, GC, and/or GC/MS) -5+ years working in an environmental analytical laboratory and/or performing data validation
