Senior Authorized Person for 33kV HV O&M at renewable sites

Tasks
-Management and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment -Become fully conversant and make sure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the RES Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions, this will include but is not limited to: -Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties -Operation and maintenance of HV Equipment -Commissioning HV plant and equipment -Occasionally working away from home for training courses or to cover RES controlled sites in other geographical areas where required -Managing the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO as required -Undertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment -Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents -Acting as Control Engineer -Liaising with external stakeholders such as DNO and asset owner -Earthing system installation and test. Protection system installation and test. -Induct and manage in-house staff and sub-contractors, ensure their safe working, and undertake quality checks on their work -Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status -Always adherence to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standards -Keeping in close communication with the O&M office -Maintaining the asset register -Carry out basic protection testing on HV related equipment. Complex protection relay testing is desirable -Producing final reports -Producing maintenance plans for HV equipment -Preparing switching schedules -Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training -Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments

What You Bring
-Strong approach to safe working practices -Knowledge of solar and Wind farm assets -Basic HV protection testing -Good people skills -Ability to identify problems, conduct analysis and develop solutions -Detailed knowledge of HV equipment -IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS or equivalent -Reacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances -Ability to coordinate multiple activities whilst ensuring safety and quality are maintained -Full UK driving licence -Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules -SAP Experience (11- 33kV) -Electrical Engineering HND or equivalent industry experience -Complex Protection relay testing and commissioning. -SAP Experience at 11 - 33kV for DNO’s and renewables -Knowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance -HV maintenance practices including HSG230 -Able to use equipment for testing and fault finding on HV plant/equipment -Holds or previously held SAP authorisations under DNO Safety Rules -Experience in fault finding on HV plant and equipment -HV Safe Systems of Work -Excellent communication skills -Previously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules -Able to operate and maintain various types of HV plant/equipment.
