Engineering Specialist - Energy Planner

Analyze transmission, forecast fuel costs, and support energy planning and market modeling.

Tasks

-Create reports and applications to support transmission power flows, constraint impact analysis, and other complex analysis -Forecast electric fuel costs for regulatory fuel cost recovery, financial management, and long term resource planning using a fuel cost and capacity expansion model -Support the annual capacity auction process, generator interconnection process, and market modeling -Communicate with various groups inside and outside the company to investigate and resolve complex technical issues -Model and analyze the transmission network to produce reliability assessments and develop plans to meet future system needs (i.e., solar, wind, batteries, natural gas, etc.) -Utilize performance monitoring/optimization tools, calculations, tests and engineering analysis to develop recommendations to maintain and improve plant, system and/or equipment performance, efficiency and reliability

What You Bring

-2+ years of data analytics experience, including college coursework -Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics or related technical discipline is preferred. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical discipline with three years of engineering/project management experience will be accepted -2+ years of relevant engineering experience including college coursework
