The Role
Overview
Assist in constructing, maintaining, and repairing power distribution systems.

Tasks
-Respond to emergency outages and perform restoration work in a timely manner -Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently -Ensure compliance with safety regulations, utility codes, and company standards -Perform troubleshooting, fault locating, and repairs on distribution systems -Conduct switching and grounding of high-voltage equipment in accordance with utility safety standards and work procedures -Assist with the installation, splicing, termination, and maintainance of overhead and underground power cables, vaults, conduits, and related equipment -Splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution networks -Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and test results -Read and interpret construction drawings, single-line diagrams, and underground cable maps -Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment such as cable pulling rigs, fault locators, splicing kits, and test instruments

What You Bring
-Strong knowledge of electrical theory, powerline construction practices, and safety procedures -Proficient in the use of locating, splicing, and testing equipment -Valid driver's license -Registered Apprentice PLT with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (Level 1, 2, 3 or 4) -Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions -Demonstrated experience working with power distribution systems -Ability to work on-call and respond to emergency situations when required
