The Role
Overview
Design, analyse and deliver structural solutions for water and wastewater projects.

Tasks
-Preparing and reviewing designs for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. -Managing the interfaces and integration of the design with that of other disciplines and production of documentation. -Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools. -Undertaking site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within the existing systems. -Supervising and mentoring our Graduates and Engineers assisting them to develop their knowledge and skills. -Preparing detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports. -Producing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules for procurement activities, reviewing supplier tender bids and technical submissions. -Working closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond. -Acting as technical checker on project documents and undertaking technical reviews for projects across teams. -Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement -Positively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to supporting them in achieving their aims.

What You Bring
-Methodical approach to problem solving. -Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, British Standards) -Understanding, applying and contributing to design standards with a good knowledge of Client and industry standards. -Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or related field. -Experience with water, or wastewater, non-infrastructure or infrastructure projects. -Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g. Staad Pro, ETABS, SAP2000) -Chartered member of professional institution e.g ICE, IMechE, etc, or equivalent experience. -Be able to appropriately challenge Client specifications and present and defend solutions to complex problems. -Proficient in delivering results within short timeframes, prioritising tasks and managing your time efficiently. -Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. -A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites. -Experience of successfully delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards. -Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, client and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
