The Role

Overview

Lead bridge design projects, coordinate staff, manage specs, and client liaison.

Tasks

-Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices. -Develop work plans for bridge designs while coordinating with other disciplines. -Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates and specifications. -May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project. -May serve on professional association committees. -Act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects. -Assist in the mentoring and development of design staff. -Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope and fee for project pursuits. -Lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects. -Perform cost estimating, develop specifications/construction documents, and lead construction phase support tasks. -Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required; masters degree is a plus. -Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -8+ years of professional design engineering work related to bridges or structures is required. -Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation is a plus. -Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning. -Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO and AREMA design codes a plus. -PE license is required in New York State (or through reciprocity).
