Distribution Designer

Overview

Design medium voltage power distribution systems for utility projects.

Tasks

-Review and/or prepare engineering-quality drawings suitable for construction, project estimates, and permitting documents -Assist with fielding work if needed -Conduct pole loading analyses and determine appropriate equipment sizing for residential projects -Perform site visits to inspect, measure and verify designs -Design and engineer medium voltage (1kV to 35kV) overhead and underground power distribution systems

What You Bring

-Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures -2+ years of Distribution design experience is required -Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel -Demonstrated ability or experience with Maximo, BOUD, SEDS, and Pole Foreman -Must have a valid Driver’s License -Previous Duke Energy design experience is required -Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting is preferred -Katapult experience is a plus
