Planning Engineer

Overview

Develop and manage project schedules, cost plans, and reporting using Primavera.

Tasks

-Develop of breakdown structures, quality criteria, product descriptions and monitoring strategy. -Support the project manager to identify options to optimise delivery through resource smoothing, resource levelling and rescheduling of activities. -Enquire and record and then test project assumptions to ensure that plans are realistic and achievable. -Provide advice on planning processes throughout the lifecycle of the project. -Identify wider resource requirements for the delivery of the project. -Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project Plan. -Support capability building and the use of best practice in planning and reporting. -Ensure that stakeholder requirements are understood and addressed in reporting arrangements.

What You Bring

-High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills -Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment -APMG International Project Planning and Control Practitioner or equivalent -PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) -Experience in building cost and resource loaded plans -Experience and show understanding of Earned Value Analysis as a reporting tool -Understanding of critical path analysis -Proactive work ethic and comfortable in challenging the team to implement savings to the programme and explore and propose mitigations -Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths. -Primavera (P6) trained and experienced -Excellent MS Office skills -Experience / understanding in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools -HNC/HND, degree qualified or experience in a planning related discipline
