The Role

Overview

Lead earthworks site surveys, QA, planning and mentor junior engineers on HS2.

Tasks

-Leading site surveys using GNSS and setting out for earthworks (batter rails, travellers). -Reviewing 3D machine control models and advising on optimal construction methods. -Mentoring junior engineers and fostering their professional development. -Preparing RAMS, QA documentation (ITPs, checklists), and ensuring readiness before work begins. -Supporting short- and long-term planning, including mass-haul and constructability reviews. -Conducting soil quality assessments and advising on material suitability.

What You Bring

-Full UK driving licence. -ICE membership (or working towards IEng status). -Strong skills in surveying, QA, and construction methodologies. -Civil engineering experience, ideally in earthworks. -A/B grades in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics A-Level (or equivalent). -ICE IEng or CEng accreditation. -Right to work in the UK (sponsorship available for exceptional candidates). -Experience with earthmoving contractors.

Benefits

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance + Lodging Allowance + Bonus + Pension + Life Assurance + Private Healthcare
