Tasks
-Manage and track testing schedules and product submissions for UL approvals. -Work closely with the Quality Assurance, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and safety across all stages of the product lifecycle. -Prepare and manage internal and external inspections, ensuring that all products meet safety standards and regulatory guidelines. -Provide technical guidance and expertise to engineering teams to ensure designs meet all applicable UL standards. -Collaborate with the legal and regulatory affairs departments to stay informed about industry regulations and compliance changes. -Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to stay updated on UL changes, revisions, and new industry standards. -Educate and train engineering teams on UL MTR requirements and the importance of compliance in the product development process. -Lead efforts in coordinating product testing and certification with UL or other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards. -Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during testing or certification processes. -Conduct regular audits of product designs, processes, and manufacturing practices to ensure continuous compliance with UL and other regulatory requirements. -Involves regular interaction with engineering teams, product managers, external testing agencies, and regulatory bodies. -Implement corrective and preventive actions when issues related to compliance, testing, or certification arise. -Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, enhance product safety, and streamline certification procedures. -Ensure that all documentation related to UL testing, compliance, and certifications is complete, accurate, and maintained for audit purposes. -Oversee the development and implementation of engineering related to UL and manufacturer test requirements (MTR) for electrical and mechanical products. -Act as the primary point of contact for testing agencies, ensuring efficient and accurate communication regarding testing and certification requirements. -Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company’s products stay ahead of regulatory changes and market demands. -Ensure all products are compliant with UL standards (e.g., UL 508A, UL 60947) and other regulatory standards applicable to the industry. -Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to integrate UL and manufacturer test requirements into the product design phase.

The manager will work closely with engineering teams, product development, and quality assurance to guide the organization in meeting UL standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring products are certified and safe for use in the market. -Experience with product safety and regulatory certifications (e.g., UL 508A, UL 60947, IEC). -Familiarity with ISO standards and other international regulatory requirements. -Knowledge of risk assessment techniques and compliance risk management. -May require occasional travel for product testing, certification activities, and industry conferences. -Excellent project management, organizational, and documentation skills. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external agencies. -Experience with electrical product testing (e.g., electrical enclosures, switchgear) and mechanical safety standards. -Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and standards and translate that into actionable requirements. -In-depth knowledge of UL standards, testing procedures, and other industry standards such as IEC, ANSI, and NEC. -10+ years of experience in Electrical engineering, focusing on switchboards, switchgear, or electrical equipment. -Bachelor or Masters Electrical Engineering Degree -Primarily office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities and testing laboratories. -4+ years of experience in engineering standards management, UL testing, and product compliance, particularly in the electrical or mechanical industries. -Proven track record of working with testing agencies and managing certification processes. -4+ years in a leadership or managerial role -Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system design principles and how they relate to safety standards.
