The Role

Overview

Provide peer support, guidance, and resource assistance to individuals in substance abuse treatment.

Tasks

-Interface with family members, or other involved parties for the purpose of maintaining or enhancing a person’s functioning and recovery -May provide direct assistance in the form of transportation, filling out forms or making phone calls, or accompanying clients to appointments -Assist with direct care, Sober Socials, AA meetings, and co-leading group treatment -Provide peer support services for individuals in treatment -Support and actively engage in practices of inclusion through Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards -Assist in finding any necessary services to meet basic needs -Meet with clients on a regular basis to discuss barriers and issues related to receiving full utilization of the service systems available -Participate in staffing, treatment planning and case conferences -Attend in-person or virtual training to enhance effectiveness of role as assigned by supervisor -Outreach and follow-up of crisis contacts and missed appointments -Organize and participate in activities that support or enhance client sobriety -Documentation of services

-Able to sit, stand walk with/ without accommodations. -Excellent customer service skills -Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors -Data entry skills -Communication Skills -Lived experience in substance use or mental health recovery -Must be able to work well with others in a team approach -Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem- solving and organizational and time management skills -Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card required -Knowledge of the Job -Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills -High School Diploma or GED required -Peer Certification Training required -Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license -Cultural Competence/Mission -Experience in working with the Native American population preferred
