Tasks

The Senior Roads Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, supervision, and quality control of roadworks within major infrastructure projects. The role includes managing design reviews, overseeing technical and site activities, ensuring compliance with Bahrain’s road design standards and international best practices, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and government authorities to deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective road infrastructure projects. -Prepare and evaluate tender documents, technical proposals, and project reports. -Review and approve subcontractors’ design drawings, technical submissions, and method statements. -Conduct feasibility assessments and recommend value engineering solutions to optimize design and cost efficiency. -Identify and resolve technical issues promptly in coordination with the design, planning, and site teams. -Supervise and monitor the execution of roadworks and infrastructure construction activities on-site. -Develop and validate detailed engineering drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material submittals, and technical specifications. -Collaborate with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, and other disciplines to develop work schedules and monitor progress. -Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of project phases, approvals, and progress updates. -Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality requirements, and HSE standards. -Lead the design and review of road construction plans in accordance with the Bahrain Road Design Manual and relevant international standards.

What You Bring

-Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Arabic is an advantage). -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s preferred). -Demonstrated leadership and team coordination skills. -Sound understanding of pavement design, drainage systems, and traffic management plans. -Strong knowledge of Bahrain and international road design and construction standards. -Minimum 8–10 years of experience in road and infrastructure projects, preferably within Bahrain or GCC. -Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MX Road, and MS Project.
