  • Assisting with the preparation of tender submissions, cost pans, and project budgets.
  • Compilation and control of project documents including maintenance of a control register. Ensure prompt issue of documentation to the respective parties.
  • Contributing to market research, trade coverage, and subcontractor engagement during tender processes.
  • Proactively drive company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Assist with general administration and coordination of trade packages following award.
  • Assist with general site duties, office and administration as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and procedures.

BESIX Watpac is seeking a Building Cadet to join the Estimating team. As a Building Cadet in our Estimating team, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to support tender preparation, cost planning, planning, and project pricing. You’ll gain exposure to real projects, industry-leading systems, and the full lifecycle of how constructions costs are developed and evaluated. This is a fantastic opportunity for a university student to secure a role with a Top Tier Building contractor.

  • Currently studying or recently completed a university-level degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Proven high level of professionalism and work ethic.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability and willingness to learn new software packages as required.
  • Attendance of lectures during work hours not to exceed 1 full-day, or 2 half-days per week.
  • Proven track record and ongoing focus on timeliness, accuracy and punctuality.
