The Role

Overview

Supervises 24/7 wastewater plant ops, manages staff, ensures compliance and reporting.

Tasks

-Manage, Assess, and Coach employee performance and workflow -Inspect and monitor treatment plant to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Permit Regulation as well as Wastewater Treatment standards -Investigate any complaints concerning treatment plant operations and take appropriate actions to solve problems -Input, access, and analyze plant operations data -Provide facility tour as necessary -Prepare and review reports submitted to regulatory agencies as well as other technical reports -Oversee the maintenance of Plant operations records -Ensure that business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met -Ensure full compliance with all company safety policies -Assist in the evaluation of equipment, prioritization of repair assignments, and requisition of parts as well as other maintenance needs -Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and administration -Observation of variations in operating conditions, interpretation of meter and guage readings and testing of results to determine processing requirements -Reporting performance records and evaluations to HR and Senior Management -May be asked to assist in the performance of regularly assigned Plant operator duties by providing skilled work or technical direction -Coordinate and/or perform complex repairs and installation related to treatment plant/equipment -Plan, assign, and schedule Operators to maintain the wastewater treatment plant on a 7-day week, 24-hour daily basis. -Design, recommend, and implement policies and procedures to streamline and improve plant operations -Coordinate and maintain communications with the Engineering Management Team -Manage time and attendance, PTO requests, etc.

What You Bring

-Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply permit regulations -Ability to create and implement Standard Operating Procedures -Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty. -Comfortable using a computer for various tasks -3 years demonstrated supervisory experience directly managing a team of trades people. -Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace -Strong leadership ability -Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task. -Excellent problem-solving skills -Excellent organizational and analytical skills. -Strong communication skills and IT fluency. -Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Environmental field recommended but not REQUIRED -Training and onboarding new hires -Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
