Tasks

In this role, the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Manager will provide leadership and support for the EHS programs at JCB North America Headquarters. The EHS Manager develops, implements, supports, and administers site safety programs ensuring the plant complies with applicable health and safety corporate initiatives, laws, regulations, and to achieve an injury-free work environment. -Manage the development, implementation, and delivery of EHS related training programs, including new hire and refresher training for all employees as needed -Integrates continuous improvements in safety systems and helps drive employee engagement to achieve desired results. -Work closely with all department managers and employees to drive, build and sustain a healthy safety culture -Collaborates with JCB employees to identify and implement improvements driving overall reduction in hazards through the use of programs such as Safe Work Observations, Hazard Recognition and Ergonomic Evaluations -Serve as incident commander during fire and/or medical emergency responses -The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. -Provide day-to-day technical safety and health advice and consultation to employees and contractors -Serves as lead for specific safety programs to implement and sustain requirements and training. -Conduct EHS related inspections and audits, generate reports and communicate findings. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. -Work and communicate with injured employees, medical professionals, claims staff and others to obtain the necessary information to ensure best interest of employees and the company are met -Ensures compliance with OSHA requirements and JCB’s health and safety program requirements.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety and five years’ experience in manufacturing operations -Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable. -Knowledge and skill in using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications -Environmental certifications, experience preferred -Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in communication and persuasion in employee interactions -The employee frequently lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. -Advanced knowledge of fire protections systems a plus -Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist -The employee must be able to climb ladders and work at heights from time to time. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. -Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Safety related field or equivalent -Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment -Knowledge of applicable 29 CFR 1910 - OSHA General Industry Standards -Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information -Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all levels of management, peers, and employees -Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions -Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employment -Public speaking and presentation skills. -5-7+ years EHS related experience in general industry manufacturing environments with direct exposure to environmental and/or health and safety field -Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time -Advanced Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Regulatory Compliance -Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force
