The Role

Overview

Perform sample handling, preparation, and support analytical testing in an environmental lab.

Tasks

-Receive, check, label, and register samples accurately in the laboratory system. -Maintain laboratory records, equipment, and work areas in accordance with QA/QC requirements. -Carry out sample preparation, including filtration and sub-sampling of water and soil samples. -Assist with sample receipt duties, including checking Chain of Custody documentation, and coordinating incoming and outgoing sample logistics. -Support wet chemistry and instrumental analysis under the guidance of senior staff. -Participate in laboratory housekeeping, waste management, and stock control.

What You Bring

-Holds a current driver’s licence. -Organised and detail-focused, with good problem-solving skills. -Competent with computers and confident entering data accurately. -Occasionally assist with sample deliveries or collections - a current driver’s licence is essential. -Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. -Interested in science or laboratory work - previous lab experience is ideal but not essential.
