The Role
Overview
Design and coordinate electrical models and documentation for energy and resource projects.

Tasks
-Support the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements. -Assist in the coordination of design and specifications within the context of a multidisciplinary design team. -Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent. -Assist other designers with project deliverables. -Performs calculations to analyze and design electrical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. -Responsible for the design and documentation package for electrical deliverables and electrical models. -Understand and adhere to all applicable drafting standards and verify completeness of design drawings. -Assist in the development of a design through sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats.

What You Bring
-Able to work under and meet tight deadlines. -Ability to work closely with Senior Engineers/Leads/Designers to meet project timelines for engineering deliverables. -Ability to read and create LV Single Line Diagrams, including sizing of electrical equipment, conduit and cable, Motor Control Schematic diagrams. -Proficiency in 3D modeling using REVIT, Autodesk Creative Cloud or Inventor is a requirement. -Minimum of 5-7 years of experience focused upon delivery of electrical design packages. -Ability to work with others on small to large complex projects. -REVIT and AutoCAD education and experience are required; certifications are a plus. -Experience in an industrial and / or mining environment is preferred. -Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Ability to create Grounding Plan and detail drawings for the installation of new equipment, Conduit / Cable Tray Routing Plan drawings, Conduit / Cable Schedule drawings, Electrical Detail drawings, Electrical Equipment Location, Layout drawings, and Schematic drawings. -Willing and able to travel. Occasional travel may be required. -Experience with Visual or similar lighting design software are a plus. -Experience with designing Medium voltage systems such as switchgear, MCC, substation and other medium voltage designs is a plus. -Effective written and verbal communication skills. -Work from schematics, sketches, and verbal instructions. -Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions. -Fundamental knowledge and understanding of electrical codes and industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, and NEC. -Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. -Proficient in relevant software programs including AutoCAD, Revit, Aveva and/or MicroStation, and Bluebeam. -Ability to read and understand Vendor information. -Typical office environment, working with computers and drawings for extended periods of time on a regular basis. Field work may include exposure to hazards including construction, weather, and industrial operations that may be experienced at infrastructure facilities. -Experience with Navisworks and Autodesk Creative Cloud is a requirement.
