Senior Bridge Design Engineer

Overview

Design and manage transportation bridge/structural projects, including calculations and docs.

Tasks

-Stay up-to-date with the state of practice, and integrate innovation and technology in design. -Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs. -Manage and lead multi-disciplinary projects from proposal stage, through design, and design services during construction. -Deliver professional presentations. -Conduct quality review of structural calculations and contract documents. -Conducts engineering research and provides technical assistance to consulting engineer, contractors, public officials, municipalities, and others as needed. -Prepare contract documents including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates. -Perform structural calculations, modeling, analysis, and design. -Develops, prepares and review reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions. -Participation in meetings with clients and project team members.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in civil, or structural engineering is required from an ABET accredited university. -Proficiency in structural analysis programs such as Midas Civil and familiarity with industry software such as Bentley OpenBridge, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, and MDX -Progressive experience specific to Bridge/Structural Engineering -Strong communications skills, both verbal and written -Ability to work independently and as part of a project team and exercise independent initiative -Project experience in North Carolina & Florida preferred -Good organization skills with attention to detail -Professional Engineer’s licenses in North Carolina & Florida with 4-10 years of experience. Or ability to obtain PE in NC or FL within 6 months. -Proficiency in structural detailing in MicroStation and AutoCAD
