Tasks

-Strategize and resolve complex technical challenges. -Establish and implement project-specific design criteria. -Lead technical meetings and discussions. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Conduct interdisciplinary reviews for coordination and contract compliance. -Apply engineering principles to meet technical requirements and develop effective solutions. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Lead structural estimate teams (engineers, estimators, designers) through EPC and Bid/Build estimates for proposed projects consisting primarily of of nuclear power generation, nuclear supporting, and Department of Energy facilities -Manage design teams to ensure quality, schedule, and budget compliance. -Project Planning: Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets for structural design and estimating deliverables. -Balance risk, change, and project impacts to support overall project success. -Design Leadership: Lead and perform engineering design tasks for foundations, walls, steel structures, buildings, and other structures. -Identify technical differentiators and contribute to key project pursuits. -Lead engineering and design teams in development of detailed estimates. -Support development and implementation of departmental standards. -Provide technical reviews at conceptual and final design stages.

What You Bring

-Experience with structural design software (SAP 2000, RISA ,SAFE, etc.) -Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Architectural, or Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred). -Proficient in equipment design using industry codes. -Regular, reliable attendance -PE registration in at least one state is highly desirable. -Experience with IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE, NFPA, FM Global, and other North American design codes/standards. -Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. -Experience with EPC, Design-Build, and Progressive Design Build projects - Preferred but not required -Familiarity with seismic design and analysis (preferred). -Detail-oriented and organized. -Excellent oral and written communication. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -ISO9000, NQA1, & Critical Grade Dedication experience preferred but not required -Experience in design-build nuclear, industrial, or power generation projects and alternative delivery methods. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Strong theoretical foundation in structural engineering principles. -2+ years leading or mentoring junior engineers. -Willingness and ability to travel as needed for business. -5+ years in structural engineering design, with emphasis in the nuclear sector.
