Tasks

-Work in outdoor and industrial settings with exposure to weather, machinery, noise, and airborne particles. -Lead and train mechanics, setting clear goals and fostering teamwork and accountability. -Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on multiple equipment. -Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. frequently; lift heavier objects using assistance such as hoists and cranes. -Assist the Shop Manager in scheduling, reporting, and enforcing company safety and operational policies. -Work in and around heavy equipment in tight or awkward positions. -Push, pull, and position heavy machinery components as necessary. -Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild machinery, heavy equipment, and engines to manufacturer specifications. -Repair and maintain a wide variety of heavy equipment, including construction-grade machinery, grinders, trucks, and specialized recycling equipment. -Perform test runs to verify quality and completeness of repairs. -Order and requisition necessary parts and maintain accurate maintenance and service records. -Ensure all maintenance areas are clean, safe, and compliant with OSHA and company standards.

What You Bring

-Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems. -Computer literacy for diagnostic and reporting systems. -Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record. -Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety documentation. -Experience in recycling, grinding, mulch production, or snow and ice equipment maintenance. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. -Frequent standing, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, and crouching required. -Hydraulic troubleshooting, welding, and fabrication experience. -Must wear appropriate PPE including safety boots, hard hat, gloves, and protective eyewear. -Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair software systems. -Proven leadership skills, including task delegation and time management. -Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. -Read and interpret job orders, schematics, and manuals to plan repair work efficiently. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. -Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check.
