Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview

Manage invoices, approvals, payments, and vendor relations for construction projects.

Tasks

-Answer vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements monthly, researching and resolving discrepancies. -Ensure all proper supporting documentation is electronically attached to invoices in accounting software. -Evaluate and document A/P processes for efficiencies and continuous improvement. -Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. -Acquire and post all credit card receipts from card holders as required. -Issue Purchase Orders as requested in a timely manner. -Prepare and upload ACH payments to the bank; print and obtain signatures on all A/P checks. -Acquire electronic invoices and send to Project Managers for approval through A/P management software (Timberscan). -Obtain approval and post invoices in accounting software for manually processed invoices. -Run A/P reports to monitor upcoming payments and communicate priorities to management.

What You Bring

-Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. -Familiarity with Timberscan software a plus. -Strong organizational and time management skills. -Bilingual skills preferred. -Advanced accounting software experience (required); Sage accounting software experience preferred. -High school diploma or GED required. -Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required). -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry required. -Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
