Tasks
-Engage in professional societies, including presenting and attending conferences -Serve as the responsible charge of a team of load rating engineers; provide technical direction, guidance, and supervision to technicians, mid-level, and entry-level engineers -Oversee and review analysis methodologies, model development, calculations, reports, and memorandums -Participate in or direct field verification visits as needed -Conduct engineering computations, prepare load rating reports, and develop demand models and capacity computations using owner-specific modeling and design software -Lead the planning, analysis, and delivery of bridge load ratings and structural analysis in compliance with MassDOT requirements -Perform Level 1 and Level 2 load ratings as required by specific client needs -Manage teams distributed across multiple offices -Develop staff training plans within established budgets -Coordinate with project managers to manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, QA/QC activities, and team collaboration

What You Bring
-Completion of FHWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training (e.g., NHI "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges") -Completion of, or registration for, FHWA courses NHI-130092 and NHI-130095 (preference for completed) -Proficiency with Autodesk and Bentley CAD software -Valid driver's license -Proficiency with engineering software such as AASHTOWare BrR, MIDAS, STAAD, LARSA, CSiBridge, and/or Sap2000 -Professional Engineer (PE) license required in MA (or ability to obtain). Preference given to candidates with a Structural Engineer (SE) license -Knowledge of MassDOT Design & Load Rating Manuals and AASHTO Standards -Strong communication, leadership, and business development skills -Travel between regional offices, as necessary -Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution -10+ years of bridge engineering experience; preference for candidates with 5+ years in bridge load rating or structural modeling
