Principal Contract Specialist

Overview

Manage, draft, review & negotiate UK infrastructure contracts and commercial agreements.

Tasks

-Support other Mott MacDonald functions in support of governance including liaison with the Legal Department, Ethics & Compliance, Data Protection and our Insurance teams. -Conduct commercial reviews to identify departures from our governance (which will be taught) and assist project teams in obtaining the necessary internal approvals where appropriate. -Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including consultancy agreements, framework agreements, memorandums of understanding and non-disclosure agreements. -Draft and update commercial guidance to raise awareness of recurrent topics and new regulations in key markets and jurisdictions. -Assisting Divisional Commercial Managers and other members of unit team. This may include leading on commercial risk management for our projects. -Manage and resolution of claims supported by our internal Commercial and Legal functions.

What You Bring

-Preferably relevant experience either in large engineering or construction company. -Ability to work autonomously or as part of a bigger team. -Understanding of UK infrastructure contract law and use of standardised contracts (e.g. New Engineering Contract). -Great analytical skills and excellent legal knowledge. -Ability to multitask, problem solve, and balance competing priorities. -Law Degree LLB or equivalent. -Good practical experience of the application of legal principles and commercial law. -Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
