The Role

Overview

Assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts for military electromechanical equipment

Tasks

-Apply identification stamping to various components and assemblies. -Paint components, as well as apply paint stripe markings to contacts. -Manually load and/or machine load retainers into molded plastic inserts per work order instructions. -Prepare single and shielded wires for termination, crimp contacts to prepared wires, terminate simple cables to connectors, and load and operate heat treat and annealing ovens. -Rework and/or repair assembled parts and products according to engineering specification changes. -Bond interface seals and grommet seals to plastic insert assemblies per work order instructions. -Setup equipment to meet product standards for identification, shell painting, retainer loading, contact painting, wire cutting, riveting, contact crimping and contact hooding. -Support cross training and support of other departments. -Follow intermediate drawings and procedures. -Bond loaded front inserts to molded plastic rear inserts per work order instructions. -Stage materials for shipment as required. -Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points. -Weigh, mix and identify items such as inks, paints, adhesives, molding compounds, and potting materials. -Assemble and bond EMI rings to connector shell per work order instructions. -Perform work with limited to no supervision. -Work in a safe manner and perform housekeeping duties to maintain safe work environment. Assure proper maintenance of a safe and clean work area. -Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, and follows procedures.

What You Bring

-Experience in aerospace products and applications. -Ability to lift 30 lbs. and handle components and assemblies using bending, reaching, and twisting body movements; in addition to use of hand tools. -Soldering contacts and application of solvents and epoxies. -Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence others’ decision-making. -High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution -Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written -2-3 years’ experience in related mechanical manufacturing assembly operations -Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. -This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee. -Minimum of 1-3 years with Manufacturing Environment experience -Ability to read, follow and understand verbal instruction, product/ process specifications, drawings, and work orders in English. -Good manual dexterity to assemble small and intricate parts. -Soldering experience -Ability to recognize and inform supervision of assembly problems and equipment breakdown. -Detailed knowledge of Aerospace product, manufacturing processes and inspection techniques. -Must exhibit a high level of motivation, sense of urgency, and energetic approach to job duties and requirements. -Ability to use calculators.
