Overview

Provide health & safety guidance, risk assessments, training, and compliance oversight

Tasks

-Attend Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and read professional journals. -Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards. -Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them -Carry out risk assessments and identify how risks could be reduced. -Ensure equipment is installed safely. -Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy. -Record incidents and accidents to produce statistics for managers. -Ensure that any ideas that may enhance the productivity or systems of the company are brought to the attention of Senior Management -Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins. -Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented. -Record findings from inspections to produce reports that suggest improvements. -Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos. -Deliver induction training for new starters. -Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases. -Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks. -Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them. -Comply with health and safety standards -Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation. -Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry. -Adhere to all company policies

What You Bring

-Benefit from having a NEBOSH qualification and IOSH membership, but it is not essential -Have great interpersonal skills to create relationships with the team -Multi-task, prioritise, work under pressure and on own initiative -Have solid communication skills -Have basic knowledge of both Microsoft 365
