Overview

Inspect and ensure quality compliance of federal construction projects.

Tasks

-Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specification relative to all phases of construction. -Deliver and review change orders; modification; RFIs; and submittals. -Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment. -Verify accuracy of as-built drawings. -Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor. -Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation and construction methods. -Monitor contractor’s schedule. -Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process. -Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.

What You Bring

-Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual, preferred -Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable -Ability to carry required instruments and equipment -Must be capable of reading contract drawings and specifications -High School Diploma/GED minimum; Construction related degree, preferred -Must have knowledge of building and construction crafts since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship -Ability to lift 50 pounds -Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail -Army Corp of Engineering (USACE), preferred -Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience on construction projects large complex multimillion dollar federal projects, Department of Defense preferred -Experience with wide range of trades including, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction -Experience using RMS 3.0, preferred -The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat. -Experience with three-phase inspection process -Utilize Resident Management System (RMS). -Demonstrate proficiency and effective communications skills in the English language in both oral and written forms -Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
