Overview
Perform mechanical/electrical construction tasks, estimates, analysis, and commissioning.

Tasks
-Creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products. -Provides mentoring to less experienced co-workers. -Reviews and approves shop drawings prior to submitting to design team. -Performs job inspections at various times in the project to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality manner. -Coordinates the mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process. -Assists in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects. -Develops sequencing requirements of various systems and provides solutions to meet the schedule requirements. Provides scheduling input during projects. -Autonomy & Decision-Making: Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor. -Reviews design documents and identifies potential quality problems. Helps develop quality control programs. -Learns and assists with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with the contract documents. -Completes increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. -Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization. -Develops proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software. -Verifies deficiencies are corrected and submits commissioning documentation to owners. -Assists in developing sequencing requirements of various systems and providing solutions to meet the schedule requirements. -Assists with the commissioning process including developing pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures and actual functional testing. -Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. -Assists in the completion of bid analysis and provides input during the subcontractor selection process. -Develops budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information. -Reviews mechanical and electrical options, completes systems analysis, recommends best system for the project and provides value engineering suggestions. -Develops pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures. Verifies contractor’s performance of functional test. -Generates and issues the Commissioning Plan for approval to the appropriate parties.

What You Bring
-Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required). -5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred). -Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate). -Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner. -Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner. -Valid and unrestricted drivers license required -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally. -Gains knowledge of design documents in order to identify potential quality problems to assist in developing constructability review reports. -Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications. -Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. -Learns to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process. -Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate). -In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. -Knowledge of means and methods of construction management. -Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
