Tasks

-Preparing technical reports and effectively communicate outputs to our clients. -Participate and/or lead site & factory testing and commissioning processes. -Continuously developing your skills and staying up-to-dateup to date with the latest technologies, best practices, and innovations within the water and utility industry. -Ensuring all design activities comply with the requirements of the company's Integrated Management Systems and procedures. Identifying opportunities for improvement. -Attending/chairing HAZID and HAZOP workshops. -Further developing and broadening the technical capacity of the MEICA team. -Mentoring and developing staff from graduate level through to senior design engineers. -Leading the MEICA Design team to support the delivery of projects and programmes of work. -Attending/chairing site progress, commissioning and handover meetings. -Attending or leading design review meetings taking into account client specifications, contractual obligations and any other client requirements -Participating in Client project kick-off, technical and steering meetings. -Ensuring design risk assessments and design solutions consider innovation/value engineering for best value, as well as safety, cost, and time constraints. -Producing design deliverables, such as specifications, drawings, data sheets, and schedules, in accordance with contract requirements. -Participate and/or lead HAZID and HAZOP processes. -Providing technical input to our cross sector multidisciplinary internal project teams. -Providing guidance and advice to site, construction, and remote delivery teams at all stages. -Solving problems and developing design solutions, playing a central role in designing necessary mechanical equipment for power and process control. -Working as part of an integrated team to deliver high quality engineering services for our clients. You will be expected to work on delivery of multiple projects concurrently.

What You Bring

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, suppliers and colleagues. -Have the ability to plan, manage and prioritise own workload. -Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications; MS Office -Aptitude to work independently to support effective and timely delivery of projects. -Be able to produce high quality reports, presentations and deliverables to clearly communicate complex issues, demonstrate logically analysis and provide robust justification design decisions and statements made. -Competence intechnical team development and the application of best-practice principles and concepts to engineer innovative solutions for clients. -Be a Chartered Engineer with a professional body such as Engineers Ireland. -Proficiency in relevant engineering design packages. -Have a proven ability to deliver project and tasks to a high quality, on time and within budget. -Competence in the economic appraisal of projects and plans. Experience of using CBA and MCA techniques would be beneficial. -Specialist technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and ICA design. -Specialist technical knowledge of water and wastewater pipeline and pumping station design, including surge analysis. -Be project focussed, proactive and independent, and able to provide a supporting project management role. -Have analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose problems and identify and recommend solutions. -Have a Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. A post graduate Level 9 Masters would be advantageous. -Have a minimum of 20 years relevant experience in the design/delivery of MEICA design services ideally in the water, gas and power industry. -Specialist technical knowledge of water & wastewater treatment design. -Have proven track record of design delivery -Diligent, professional and organised approach to work delivery.; -Have the ability to lead and motivate. -Competence in collaboratingon multi-disciplinary projects with engineering, planning and environmental professionals.
