Tasks

You will work proactively with business subject matter experts and IT stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, define requirements (user stories), and deliver robust, scalable solutions. Your work will directly contribute to DLC’s transformation and operational excellence. As an Automation Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain automated solutions to streamline business processes across Duquesne Light Company (DLC). Leveraging RPA and Power Automate, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful automation projects that enhance operational efficiency and user satisfaction. -Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of automation standards and practices -Troubleshoot and resolve issues in deployed bots or automated flows -Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed automations -Provide after-hours support during critical release cycles (e.g., hyper care after initial production deployment) -Work closely with other developers and business analysts to ensure feasibility and alignment of automation solutions -Ensure knowledge transfer and support for automation solutions -Design solutions leveraging best practices, including Robotic Enterprise Framework and queues, Software Development best practices -Stay current with industry trends and best practices in automation -Define and communicate business value for automation initiatives -Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and clarify requirements

What You Bring

-Experience with programming languages such as Python, .NET, or JavaScript is a plus -Ability to define, document, and optimize business processes for automation -2+ years of relevant software development experience -Adaptability and customer focus -Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is preferred -Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience (e.g., Associate’s degree with 4+ years relevant experience) -Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team -Ability to scope, design, develop, deploy, test, and monitor RPA and Power Automate solutions -Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills -Hands-on experience with UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate
