The Role

Overview

Design fire protection systems and conduct life‑safety code analyses for diverse projects.

Tasks

-Assist in managing CAD and production efforts. -Multi-discipline engineering services plus corrosion control, commissioning and project/construction management -Design and specify basic systems without continuous oversight. -Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. -Work independently and supervise the efforts of a small team. -Perform consulting services for internal clients, utilizing Fire Protection Engineering technical skills, including but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; fire detection, alarm and communication system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research. -Manage and participate in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.

-Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale. -Exceptional written and verbal communication skills -BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited college or university -Minimum five years working experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting) -46 years in business -Experience working with AutoCAD and Revit -Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and a working knowledge of computer‐aided drafting and Revit, (fire dynamic simulation for fire protection engineers). -PE Required -General building construction knowledge -Able to multi‐task and prioritize in a fast‐paced environment. -Able to work independently as well as in high functioning teams. -Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
