The Role

Overview

Design municipal water/wastewater systems and manage projects.

Tasks

-May conduct construction inspection services and construction administration. -Prepare contract documents for construction (i.e. engineering drawings and specifications). -Coordinate the design with review/input from the various municipal/utility/approval agencies/stakeholders and obtain all necessary approvals. -May provide services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications. -Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects. -Undertake the design of both public and private sector municipal servicing projects (i.e. sewage pumping stations and water booster stations, elevated tanks, reservoirs, and water/wastewater treatment systems) including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies. -Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects. -Mentor recently hired junior team members on the various facets of municipal infrastructure design. -Participate in constructability review. -Liaise with clients, municipalities, and other agencies to secure approvals. -Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision. -Assist developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.

What You Bring

-P.Eng. licensure with P.E.O. -Contract administration experience is considered an asset. -Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence. -Experience with Master Planning, Class EAs and DWWP and/or ECA process in Ontario considered or equivalent in other Provinces is considered an asset. -5-7 years of experience in the execution of wastewater infrastructure (sewer pumping stations, booster pumping stations, reservoir and elevated tanks and water and wastewater treatment plants) projects. -Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges. -Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering.
