The Role

Overview

Lead design and review of electric distribution projects (4‑34 kV) for utilities.

Tasks

-Work directly with the client representative to ask and answer questions related to the distribution design. -Develop your career via peer-learning by way of S&L’s systems of process and associated “Communities of Practice.” -Prepare/Review construction sketches and details for: -Work on project teams with other engineers involved in the design of new upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities. -Plan modifications to the system as well as designing and overseeing complex tasks. -Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components. -Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs. -Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews. -Develop work packages and provide construction support, when necessary. -Analyze, design or review priority feeds.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with GIS software. -PLS CADD experience, highly preferred. -Strong communication skills. -This position requires a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program. -Experience in utility distribution inspections and/or construction. -FSA & HSA -7 or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience to be able to review work by others. -Knowledgeable in applicable codes, standards, and distribution software programs including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, etc. -Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34 kV). -Able to lead a project team. -Familiarity with various distribution design/analysis software. -Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD. -Professional Engineering Registration or able to obtain a PE within 5 years. -Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application.
