Design Consultant

Overview

Assist customers in product selection, sales, and design consulting in showroom.

Tasks

-Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times. -Create a memorable shopping and selection experience for all customers. -Organize and maintain showroom literature, idea centers and the sample library. -Frequently, you will be expected to stand and sit for long periods of time. -Provide support and resources to outside sales representatives. -Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times. -Maintaining clean work and office areas. Setting up, moving, adjusting and cleaning displays. Keeping desk, floors and showroom area clean and maintained. -Maintain organization of the sample area. Return and proper placement of samples to the designated sample area. -Determine customer needs and timeline and tailor presentation of materials according to their needs. -Building and maintaining a working knowledge of current inventory, colors, specifications, and information through regular product reviews, internal meetings, trade, and industry publications, etc. -Receive incoming customer service in person and over the phone. -Use order entry system to look up pricing, inventory and availability, customer information, delivery dates, back-orders, etc. Enter orders and slab holds when necessary. -Frequently, bending, crouching, pushing, and pulling will be required to stock and organize the samples department. -Frequently, using ladder to reshelf samples in the samples department. -Develop options and implement solutions -Liaison with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers by passing on selection information for existing and new clients. -Provide clients with unsurpassed service, expertise, and convenience through the sales and completion process. -Assist clients in selecting and/or specifying tile, natural stone, slab, and other related products; offer alternative options; offer best solutions to meet customer needs. -Adhere to and comply with all safety policies and practices. -Assist customers in the process of product knowledge and design material selection process.

What You Bring

-Associate degree in interior design or related field highly preferred. -Background in design, construction, and/or education in interior design. -Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. -Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees. -Strategic and tactical thinking abilities. -Multitask in a fast-paced environment -Positive attitude and engagement with customers and internal employees. -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. -Attention to detail -Strong communication skills required, including collaborating, and communicating respectfully and professionally with customers, co-workers, contractors, management, department team members and outside agencies to ensure a smooth transition from order placement to product installation. -Ability to operate independently and take initiative. -Must pass mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check. -Must be able to work overtime as necessary. -Think analytically -Passion and proven knowledge of interior designing and space planning. -Must be confident, hardworking, motivated, well organized and task oriented, and possess good closing and presentation skills. -Positive attitude and strong work ethic. -Maintain regular and punctual attendance (consistent with ADA and/or FMLA) -Occasionally, you will be expected to lift up to 25-30 pounds. -Communicate effectively
