Tasks

-Work collaboratively with other peer estimators, project managers, engineers, detailers, vendors. -Responsible for accuracy of all components of estimating workbook spreadsheets including verifying correct labor hours are assigned to the proper tasks, labor rates are accurate, internal cost allocations, assumption, material, transportation, and other services not performed by company. -Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions. -Attend job walks, bid review, meetings as needed. -Manage project management teams expectations through communications both written and verbal. -Use HVAC estimating software, currently Highland Construction Software / Quote Soft / Trimble AutoBid software tools to perform project takeoffs. -Communicating with customers / project teams to accurately define requirements and expectations. -Creating detailed estimate packages for final review with associated backup documentation. -Ensures compliance with regulations and company policies. -Consolidating all outside costs and internal costs associated with fabrication and installation. -Reviewing customer requests for quotes for both deliverable and quality requirements. -Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. -Writing clarification letters for estimates performed. -Responsible for providing timely and accurate cost estimates of labor and materials for new construction, tenant improvement, or maintenance projects.

What You Bring

-Basic knowledge of HVAC codes. -2-5 years field experience in construction or HVAC industry. -Microsoft suite applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project. -Knowledge of SMACNA. -Autodesk AutoCAD & Revit basic knowledge and navigation of drawings / models. -Experience in construction HVAC & process systems industry. -Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate. -Experience estimating medium to large projects. -Proficient in Microsoft suite applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project. -Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. -AGILE: Hands-on with ability to shift back and forth from self-reliance and personal accountability to cross-group collaboration while making others successful along the way. Adaptable and willing to adjust style to audience, learn and grow with the company. -Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. -College degree in Construction Management / Engineering or related field. -Bluebeam and Adobe PDF applications. -Experience using Estimating software such as Trimble AutoBid, Highlands Construction Software, Quote Soft, or equal. -ORGANIZED: Sense of urgency with the ability to set priorities and build action plans to drive timely execution. Thorough, methodical, and result-oriented with great attention to detail. -Knowledge of construction industry. -Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. -PROBLEM-SOLVING: Able to identify patterns beyond noise or incomplete information by demonstrating a willingness to engage by asking questions and articulating relevant problem statements and drive toward logical conclusions and decision points. Attention to detail, able to segregate beliefs and assumptions from facts. Demonstrate strong judgment to turn information into insights, practical solutions, and decision-ready recommendations.
