Tasks

-Researches, plans, and proactively manages firmware and software updates, including major code upgrades and security patches, for IT infrastructure to ensure systems are kept current, manageable, and secure. -Implements security measures to protect network systems and data. -Seeks out opportunities to improve security, end user efficiency, customer service, and reduce costs. -Keep work area neat and clean. -Provides support of main and remote facility networks, server infrastructure, storage systems, backup and recovery, and Windows and Linux based application environments. -Provides accurate and timely status updates on work being performed. -Completes assigned tasks and projects successfully on time and within budgetary and technical constraints. -Creates and maintains detailed technical documentation of existing and new systems including network diagrams, build documents, inventory of installed hardware and software, and related licensing. -Develops IT procedures and build documents, contributes to disaster recovery and business continuity efforts. -Provides support to team members on Windows and Linux servers, Windows workstations, and other network devices and services such as wireless, printing, scanning, and VOIP telephony. -Administers company web servers and assists web developers as needed. -Proactively ensures core IT systems are stable, available, and performing well. -Administers and maintains assigned IT services and systems, such as directory services, telephony, email, backup, security applications, and physical security systems. -Provides coverage and acts as a backup when other team members are unavailable. -Administers network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure. Needs to have a solid understanding of IP networks inclusive of IP network segmentation, virtual private networks, DNS, DHCP, IP routing, fault tolerance, and security. -Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis on network and server issues and reports findings. -Creates and maintains documentation required for other team members to backup this position.

-Stays current with technology and keeps skillset relevant. -Ability to work highly effectively as part of a team, individually, and with general guidance. -Strong English language and writing skills. -Ability to administer and maintain a web server environment in Linux. -Ability to create technical documentation and provide status reports. -Willingness to work outside normal business hours to conduct routine maintenance and resolve problems. -One or more related technical certifications or formal training experiences. -Ability to deploy and administer Windows and Linux based servers. -Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality. -Ability to administer Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure. -Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy of work. -Experience working with hardware, storage systems, databases, or clustering. -Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (85%) -Ability to build, deploy, configure, and update networking and server hardware and software. -Ability to operate with integrity, trust, confidentiality, and a positive attitude. -Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and maintain professionalism. -Ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, and perform effective time management. -Effective knowledge of security protocols, methods (certificates, encryption), and best practices. -1 year (minimum) hands-on experience in all areas listed below. -Required to sit, stand and walk. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ability to administer firewalls, routers, managed switches, and wireless infrastructure. -An Associate’s degree will be considered with a relevant, progressive work history and a demonstrated ability to communicate at a high level, verbally and written. -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
