Tasks

The Director of Concrete Construction provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all concrete construction projects within the organization. This role ensures project delivery excellence, field productivity, safety compliance, and profitability while maintaining high-quality standards and client satisfaction. The Director mentors project teams, drives continuous improvement, and establishes operational best practices across the concrete division. -Oversee planning and execution of multiple concrete projects from bid to completion. -Support risk management and incident investigation efforts. -Ensure readiness for pours, including safety, logistics, and QA/QC planning. -Minimize rework through proactive planning and inspection. -Oversee mix design submittals, testing coordination, and field QA/QC. -Implement best practices in formwork, mix design, placement, finishing, and curing. -Promote a proactive safety culture across all project teams. -Optimize labor, equipment, and material utilization. -Ensure scope, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved. -Support business development with bid strategy and client presentations. -Collaborate with executives on business planning, forecasting, and resource allocation. -Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. -Enforce OSHA and company safety policies. -Ensure concrete work meets engineering specifications and industry standards (ACI, ASTM). -Lead preconstruction and coordination meetings. -Build a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and accountability. -Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning. -Resolve high-level project issues related to constructability, logistics, and execution. -Review project estimates, budgets, change orders, and cost reports. -Establish division goals, budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting systems. -Recruit, train, and mentor construction leaders and field personnel. -Lead a team of project managers, superintendents, estimators, and field crews. -Standardize construction methods, processes, and productivity metrics. -Develop and execute long-term strategy for growth and performance of the concrete division.

What You Bring

Certifications (Preferred) -PMP or CCM certification -Proven leadership experience managing large commercial, industrial, or heavy civil concrete projects. -Experience with tilt-up, structural concrete, mass foundations, or flatwork (as applicable). -Proficient with construction software (Procore, Viewpoint, P6, Bluebeam, MS Project). -Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, scheduling, and cost control. -Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred). -Professional Engineer (PE) license (optional but valuable) -OSHA 30 -10–15+ years of concrete construction experience, including field management. -Ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
