The Role

Overview

Senior engineer delivering stormwater, SuDS and hydraulic design using BIM and digital tools

Tasks

-Create and check pavement designs for rural and small urban roads. -Develop sustainable solutions and strive for carbon-low designs, working towards NetZero. -Coordinate with multiple disciplines, LPOs, and clients. -Apply AtkinsRéalis Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS). -Support team development and skill enhancement. -Develop and improve design tools, checklists, and coordinate with GTC digital teams. -Develop and inspect hydraulic models; use design knowledge to optimize and develop options for storm drainage schemes. -Develop/check 3D models/drawings, components, and interface between design and BIM software. -Embrace digital engineering and promote innovative engineering design solutions. -Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed design, including related calculations, specifications, and documentation. -Lead and manage stormwater drainage projects; act as discipline lead for multi-discipline projects.

What You Bring

-Demonstrate wide exposure and technical knowledge of SuDS design principles and stormwater management solutions. -Familiarity with international codes for US, Canada, UK, and Middle East preferred. -Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and use new water-related design software, tools, and processes for automation and digital efficiency. -8+ years of experience in the Water & Wastewater Industry. -Good written and verbal English communication skills. -Chartered member or working towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM, or equivalent) is preferable. -Experience with utility clash inspection and clash resolution. -Wet utilities design for storm and other utilities (foul water, potable water, TSE) for UK, Ireland, Middle East, and other regions. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from a reputable institute. -Experience with CDE platforms such as ProjectWise, BIM 360, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc. -Hands-on experience with software such as InfoDrainage, CausewayFlow, MicroDrainage, CivilStorm, SewerGEMS/WaterGEMS, PCSWMM, etc. -Clear knowledge of work procedures and ability to brief project teams. -Working knowledge of BIM platforms like Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads/Inroads/MX Road, Revit, Navisworks, etc. -Experience with major infrastructure projects at master plan, concept, and detailed design stages. -Ability to work effectively with colleagues, seniors, team members, and clients.
