Overview
Lead Automation Engineer overseeing AIC discipline, budgeting, design, and construction for pharma projects.

Tasks
-Leads a team of discipline staff in the execution of advanced projects, discipline design and engineering. -Identifies and resolves intermediate non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys. -Develops intermediate internal discipline design and engineering training presentations. -Supports Project Manager in proposal development, man-hour planning and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on large/complex projects. -Plans and directs work and manages a project budget from a discipline design perspective on large complex projects. -Conducts quality checking of documents for advanced and complex projects (e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation) and drives overall project quality. -Interfaces with clients and external partners. -Develops construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on advanced and complex projects with little oversight. -Provides mentorship to discipline Engineer I, II and III and/or Designer I and II. -Provides lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, site inspections and construction progress reports.

-Proficient with advanced design calculations with limited supervision -Proficiency in Microsoft Office -The ability to evaluate and consult the following 4.0 technologies (Digital Technology & Innovation in alignment with Pharma) within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred: -Proficiency in discipline-specific software -Converged IT/OT Network and Application Architectures -Communication protocols: Ethernet-IP, BACnet, IO-Link, etc. -ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in discipline-specific field of study (ChemE, ME, EE or Robotics/Mechatronics) -Advanced experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings and field wiring plans design -Advanced experience with performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations and developing and implementing instrumentation and control system design deliverables. -ISA-88 / ISA-95 / ISA-106 -21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures) -Proficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers -Data solutions (including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) -Advanced experience with other applicable industry standards -Intermediate experience with the electrical code -Advanced experience developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) -Experience and knowledge of designing Safety Instrumented Systems -ISA Certified Automation Professional -Electronic Batch Records / MES -Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit -Possesses advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting. -ISPE GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) -Intermediate experience and knowledge of Electrical Classified Design. -Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments -Advanced Robotics Application (Including AMRs and AGVs) in manufacturing, warehouses and labs. -Integration with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) -Minimum of 10 years of Instrumentation & Control System Design experience, preferably in a design firm setting -Virtual and Augmented Reality -Advanced experience and knowledge of industrial control systems -Systems: DCS, SCADA, PLC, BAS/BMS, EMS/CMS, etc. -Professional Engineer registration -Proficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination -Intermediate experience with applicable mechanical and building codes -ASME BPE (Bioprocessing Equipment Standard)
