Lead civil engineer overseeing NC work zone traffic control designs.

Tasks

-Manage workflow to ensure program delivery, maintain team utilization goals, and sustain financial success. -Recruit, retain, mentor, lead, and train staff. Independently manage technical tasks and provide staffing plans for projects completed on parallel schedules. -Maintain a robust quality management system within the North Carolina Work Zone team while maintaining compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. -Prepare, review, and exercise responsible charge for deliverables, including working drawings, plans, calculations, reports, cost estimates, and studies to satisfy the goals of North Carolina clients. -Complete Traffic Management Plans for all levels of complexity, including Levels 1 through 4 as defined by NCDOT’s prequalification discipline requirements. -Serve as technical practice leader for the North Carolina work zone team and policy advisor for public agencies. -Author technical reports and memoranda. -Create business development plans for North Carolina clients, especially NCDOT. -Create a dynamic team environment for the North Carolina work zone practice while collaborating with teams across the southeast region and the country.

What You Bring

-Experience presenting at technical conferences. -Experienced in the MUTCD and NCDOT work zone traffic control standards, manuals, processes, policies, and procedures. -Five (5) years of project management experience with demonstrated organizational, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. -Five (5) years of experience working on major interstate widening and improvement projects. -Valid US Driver’s License required, as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review. -Experience on major design-build projects with a construction value over $500M. -BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline plus ten (10) years of demonstrated relevant experience and/or education including 2 years of leadership. -Experience with the following programs: Microstation Geopak and OpenRoads. -Specific transportation experience in developing traffic management plans, reports, and specifications. -Professional engineering (PE) license in the State of North Carolina or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire date. -Five (5) years of experience working within the North Carolina transportation market. -Fifteen (15) years of work zone engineering experience.
