The Role

Overview

Design and support control systems for DOD Sentinel program facilities.

Tasks

-Support the modeling of instrumentation in the 3D model and preparation of instrument location drawings -Coordinates the reviews of deliverables between the client as well as other engineering disciplines/functions. Reviews and resolves comments/feedback on the deliverables -Provides technical assistance to other Control Systems personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex issues -Preparation of logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, instrument data sheets, etc. using AutoCAD to implement custom controls for equipment based on customer requirements -Develop additional procurement documentation including written scopes of work. -Design systems to monitor health and status alarms of multiple independent facility control/process systems and utilities (HVAC, lighting, power, etc). -Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting -Ensures control systems designs comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and standards such as ISA 5.1 -Develop equipment and material specifications utilizing the DOD software Specsintact. -Reviews and checks design deliverables for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion -Prepare instrument index and I/O list using automated tools, vendor inputs and Bechtel inputs as applicable. -Review of and input to P&IDs to include selection of components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability -Reviews client requirements and incorporates them into a design product -Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. -Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of on Control Systems aspects of the work -Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Control Systems requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution -Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design solution.

What You Bring

-Broad knowledge of the application of Control Systems engineering design principles. -Understanding of Mechanical and Process Engineering discipline drawings and system calculations, as related to Control System design requirements. -Extensive knowledge and application Codes and Standards. -Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). -Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and Guide Specifications from the Whole Building Design Guide. -Registered Professional Engineer in USA. -Experience executing engineering design with AutoCAD. -Strong understanding of engineering drawings, data sheets and selection of instruments based on system application requirements. -Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000. -US citizenship is required per contract requirement. -Engineer in Training Certificate.
