Welder (HPC)

Overview

Perform precise welding on Hinkley Point C structures, following drawings & standards.

Tasks

-To be responsible for prepping area of work to receive material including pre-heating tools where needed. -To be responsible for checking quality of own work, cleaning down steel ready for Paint and check material for defects or spatter -To be responsible for marking work with identification number for traceability -To be able to dress product, removing any sharp edges using griding techniques -To read additional weld sheets for complex work -To and interpret components within fabrication drawings to assess thickness and sizes of welds required -To gauge material where needed to correct depth and size

What You Bring

-To be able to control and minimise material distortion -Level 2 Diploma in a Welding discipline or equivalent -Level 2 Certificate in Welding and Engineering Craft Studies -Level 2 Welding Apprenticeship -A Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Welder in a relevant industry -To be able to use different consumables depending on project requirements -An equivalent Apprenticeship in a Welding discipline -BS EN ISO 9606 Coded Welding Qualification
